Children at play: Activity 3

The seaside

The seaside activity encourages children to investigate the image by scrolling over areas to activate spot animations.

_newThe students choose a seaside character from below the main image. They are asked to click on it, which will make it appear beside the box. They then write what this character is doing inside the box. They can use the larger image to help them. They will be able to print off their work if they want to.

Click on the image on the right to see an example of the expected outcome to this activity.

The seaside activity develops children's ICT knowledge and improves their skill in following instructions. It also helps to improve their basic literacy skills by encouraging them to write imaginatively.

The activity is purposely open ended so that students can either write at a basic level or more imaginatively using clauses and descriptive language.
