  How families lived

Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and came to the throne in 1837. She was the longest reigning monarch in British history. She died in 1901 at the age of 82.

This topic provides activities for KS2 and KS3 and are based on images of children during the Victorian period. They range from what they did in their leisure to what they did whilst working. It contains a variety of images of working life, home life and general health.

Many of the activities in the Teachers' Zone are designed to be downloaded and then printed off. They are intended to be used as paper resources in a classroom setting, however there are links to the Children's Zone that provide interactive activities for the students to complete online.

There are guidance and extension activities for teachers in the Teachers' Zone about the educational value of the activities contained in the Children's Zone.
